Easy Hummus

Experiment with different olive oils to tweak the flavor of this delicious hummus. Serve with pita chips or cold, crisp vegies like carrot sticks and cucumber slices.


  • 1 15-oz. Can garbanzo beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1/4 Cup sesame tahini
  • 1/4 Cup California Garlic Olive Oil
  • 3 Tablespoons fresh-squeezed lemon juice
  • 3 Tablespoons water
  • Pinch ground cayenne pepper
  • Salt to taste


Buzz in food processor until smooth. Refrigerate for about a half hour before serving.


*Author makes this often with Arbequina Olive Oil for a smooth, mild taste, or Castile Olive Oil for a more punctuated taste, and sometimes, but not always, adds a fresh-pressed garlic clove. Any way, this healthy dip always disappears quickly!
